Let’s get to know each other.
Hey there, I’m Dr. Julia
With you, through life’s twists and turns.
I'm here to help you tackle life's tough stuff, whether it's dealing with discrimination, finding your place in a complex world, or overcoming mental health struggles. As a psychologist focused on social justice and liberation, I'm all about supporting you through whatever challenges you're facing. Together, we'll find ways to empower you and build resilience so you can thrive in the face of adversity.
Why work with me?
In our journey together, you’ll uncover how to be kinder to yourself while tackling the unique challenges of motherhood, which can encompass worries, self-judgment, stress, depression, and grief. You will also get the space to reevaluate your relationship, whether on your own or through couples therapy.
As a bilingual and bicultural mom of two living children, as well as someone who has experienced pregnancy loss, I'm well aware of the gaps in culturally relevant reproductive and parenting wellness services, particularly in our Spanish-speaking community. My mission is to bridge that gap.
“My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.”
— Maya Angelou
Dr. Julia’s Story
Life throws us curveballs, right? I get it. From navigating cultural identities to facing life's ups and downs, I've been there.. Born and raised in Argentina, my journey led me to psychology after years in education. But it was my experience as an immigrant that fueled my passion for helping others like you find their footing in a world that often feels overwhelming.
When you walk through my virtual door, you're not just another appointment on my calendar. You're someone I genuinely care about. Together, we'll unpack the challenges you're facing – whether it's feeling disconnected from your roots or struggling to make sense of your mental health. My approach? It's all about empathy, understanding, and a fierce dedication to social justice.
In our sessions, you'll find a safe space to be authentically you. No judgment, no shame – just honest conversations about the stuff that matters most to you. And when I’m not in my virtual clinic or training clinicians at the University of Denver, you’ll find me working out, whipping up some delicious treats, diving into crafty projects, or chasing my two very energetic young daughters. Can’t wait to get to know you better!
